The bright orange and charcoal black colours parrallel the sublime dance of life and death that is born out of bushfires. When asked to make a work relating to the mythologies I see in my land it was immediately evident to me to draw upon the surreal effects that the bushfire has had in the Blue Mountains where I live following the tragic impact that the October 2013 bushfires had on the Blue Mountains community.
